On August 6, Miley Cyrus announced via Twitter that she was “ready for a change” — but she didn’t specify just what kind of change. Then, she began a daily countdown to Sunday, August 12.

So what was her big event? A drastic change in hairstyle. Cyrus tweeted a photo of her stylist, Chris McMillan, about to take scissors to her trademark bun. When fans began to protest, she added, “It’s happening. if you don’t have something nice to say don’t say anything at all. my hair is attached to my head no one else’s and it’s going bye bye :)”

She wasn’t kidding! By that night, Cyrus had debuted a super-short platinum blonde style — a very high-fashion look compared to the shoulder-length girl-next-door locks she’s been rocking lately.

So what do you think of the new Miley, Zappers? One thing is for sure — she loves it! “Never felt more me in my whole life,” she tweeted after showing off the new pics.
